Verona Villafranca is the Lake Garda airport. A 3,068 m runway that accepts everything up to ultra-long-range types, a single dedicated FBO with its own customs channel, and Sirmione or Peschiera about thirty minutes from the ramp — no other field puts a heavy jet this close to the lake.
Chartering to Verona
The airport operates around the clock, seven days, but the headline needs reading correctly: prior permission is required for business aviation, and ramp space — not the runway — is the binding constraint. In summer, overnight parking is usually limited to a single night, with Wednesdays and Saturdays the tightest days for ramp space. For longer stays the aircraft repositions to Brescia Montichiari nearby and returns on your schedule; we price that in from the start rather than discover it later. The calendar that shapes the ramp
Verona’s demand moves with its events. The Arena di Verona opera festival fills evenings from mid-June to early September; Vinitaly spikes the ramp each April; winter brings ski traffic, since the catchment reaches Trentino and South Tyrol. The field is shared with the Villafranca air base, so occasional military activity can affect availability, and commercial traffic keeps growing, with a terminal expansion underway. None of this stops a well-planned charter — it simply decides which dates need the parking conversation early.
The FBO and onward to Garda
Sky Services operates the only FBO on the field: a purpose-built airside GA terminal with direct-to-aircraft boarding and private customs and immigration processing, so non-Schengen arrivals clear at the FBO rather than the main terminal. Central Verona is 15–20 minutes; the southern lake shore at Peschiera and Sirmione about 30.
