Palma airports — PMI · LEPA

Palma de Mallorca.

Palma is the Balearics' main gateway and Europe's busiest island airport in high summer — yet the charter experience sits apart from all of it, in a dedicated General Aviation Terminal on the east side of the field with its own airside customs, open around the clock, with no curfew. The airfield never limits the aircraft; in July, the parking does.

Chartering from Palma

Two parallel runways — 3,270 m and 3,000 m — and H24 operations mean any business jet works here at any hour, and late-night arrivals are routine even in peak season. In summer the airport is Level 3 slot-coordinated, so from roughly June to September every movement, private flights included, needs an allocated airport slot. Off-peak, slots are rarely the constraint. London–Palma starts from €15,000 all-in and Zurich–Palma from €13,000.

The real summer constraint is parking

In July and August the GAT apron saturates so completely that aircraft are routinely repositioned empty off-island — to Ibiza, Valencia or the mainland — between drop-off and pick-up, and that ferry flying is billed to the charter. It is the line item that surprises first-time Mallorca clients, and it is why we confirm handling and parking weeks ahead for a July weekend rather than days. A confirmed overnight stand can be worth more than a marginally cheaper aircraft.

The terminal and getting to town

The General Aviation Terminal is fully separated from the commercial terminal and its thirty million holiday passengers. Mallorcair has handled there for over three decades, and Sky Valet runs the former Gestair FBO as part of its Spanish network, both with 24-hour cover. Spain is EU and Schengen, and non-Schengen arrivals clear customs airside within the GAT, arranged through the FBO. Central Palma is 8 km away — 15 to 20 minutes by car.
