Private jet to Barcelona.
Barcelona is an easy arrival for most of the year and a difficult one for about three weeks of it. The difference is the congress calendar, not the season.
Where you land
El Prat handles private arrivals through a separate terminal on the south side of the field. Immigration and the walk to the car happen away from the commercial building, which is the point.
Sabadell sits closer to the north of the city and takes light aircraft only. We use it rarely, and usually when El Prat slots have gone.
When it gets difficult
Mobile World Congress fills El Prat’s business aviation parking faster than anything in the summer does. The same is true of the smaller medical and industrial congresses that run through the spring. During those weeks the aircraft is the easy part and the parking stand is the constraint, so we book earlier and sometimes reposition the aircraft empty rather than hold a stand.
July and August are busy without being difficult. The Balearics pull traffic away from the mainland, which helps.
Which aircraft.
A light jet does London to Barcelona comfortably. Most of our clients on this route take a Citation XLS or a Phenom 300 and land with fuel to spare. Midsize aircraft make more sense when the party is six or more, or when the return leg is the same day and you want the cabin to be worth sitting in twice.

How far in advance should we book a private jet to Barcelona?
Two or three days is enough for most of the year. For Mobile World Congress and the larger spring congresses, book two weeks out. The limit in those weeks is aircraft parking at El Prat, not aircraft availability.
Which airport do private jets use in Barcelona?
El Prat, through its own business aviation terminal. Sabadell is an option for light aircraft and sits closer to the north of the city, but it has no customs facility for arrivals from outside Schengen.
How long is the flight from London to Barcelona by private jet?
About one hour fifty. Weather over the Pyrenees can add ten or fifteen minutes in winter.
Can we fly into Barcelona and continue to Ibiza the same day?
Yes, and it is a common shape for a trip. The Barcelona to Ibiza leg is under an hour. We would normally keep the same aircraft and crew rather than rebook, which is cheaper than two separate charters.
Do you arrange ground transport from El Prat?
Yes. The car meets the aircraft on the ramp where the airport permits it, and at the terminal door where it does not.
