Barcelona airports — BCN · LEBL

Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat.

Barcelona El Prat is the rare major hub that treats business aviation as a first-class citizen — a dedicated corporate terminal, 24-hour operations with no curfew, and equal slot access with the airlines. For charter into Catalonia and the western Mediterranean, it is the default answer.

Chartering from Barcelona

Every movement needs an airport slot — El Prat is fully coordinated, and that includes private non-revenue flights — but the machinery is unusually friendly. Slots are requested through the handler, the 24-hour slot office typically answers within about an hour, and aircraft parking is confirmed in the same transaction. Outside event peaks, a slot on short notice is the norm rather than the exception. Three runways, the longest at 3,352 m, mean no performance limits for anything in the business fleet, up to BBJ and ACJ size.

Our published lane prices the city: London from €13,000 all-in.

The Mobile World Congress exception

There is no night closure — the airport runs 24 hours, with night-time noise-abatement runway configurations the handler confirms at planning — so the calendar, not the clock, is what we plan around. Mobile World Congress in late February and early March is the pinch point: ramp saturation and slot demand spike sharply, late requests face revisions or forced repositioning, and we book slots and parking weeks ahead for those dates.

The corporate terminal

Business aviation uses the Aena Corporate Aviation Terminal, renovated in 2020 and managed by Sky Valet, with stands for roughly forty business aircraft and its own passport control, security and customs staffed around the clock. Passengers go from kerb to aircraft in minutes. The drive to central Barcelona is 15 km, typically 20 to 30 minutes.
