Enter where you are starting, where you are going and how many of you are travelling. The calculator finds the airports a jet can use near each end and the drive to and from them. It picks the smallest aircraft that seats your party and flies the trip nonstop, then gives the flight time in that month’s average winds and an indicative all-in price from our Price Index.

How long does a private jet flight take?

Most flights within Europe take between 50 minutes and two and a half hours. London to Paris is 50 minutes on a light jet, London to Nice 1h 45m, Warsaw to London 2h 30m. The table comes from the same planner as the calculator, for four passengers, averaged over the twelve months of the year. The column after it shows the quickest and the slowest month.

New York Teterboro to Geneva 6,208 km Heavy Jet 7h 25m 7h 15m–7h 35m €90,000–135,700

Wind matters most on long flights. Geneva to New York takes about 9h 15m on a heavy jet and the return 7h 25m. At cruising height the jet stream blows from west to east, so it slows the outbound flight and speeds up the way home. In January a Falcon 900LX may need a fuel stop on the way to New York. Eastbound it flies nonstop all year.

Which aircraft for your party and your distance?

Two numbers decide the class: how many are travelling and how far the longest leg is. The calculator starts with the smallest class that seats everyone. It moves up when that class cannot fly the leg nonstop, or when the flight would run longer than we would ask anyone to sit in it: about an hour in a turboprop, three hours in a light jet, five in a midsize.

Aircraft class Seats Nonstop range, 4 passengers Cruise speed Runway we plan on Per block hour Examples
Turboprop 6–8 3,000 km (1,600 nm) 520 km/h 900 m €2,100–4,600 Pilatus PC-12 NGX
Light Jet 6–8 2,900 km (1,550 nm) 810 km/h 1,100 m €4,700–7,500 Embraer Phenom 300 / 300E, Cessna Citation CJ4
Midsize Jet 7–8 4,100 km (2,250 nm) 790 km/h 1,500 m €8,600–13,200 Hawker 900XP, Bombardier Learjet 60XR
Super Midsize Jet 8–9 5,200 km (2,800 nm) 820 km/h 1,600 m €8,900–15,300 Bombardier Challenger 350, Embraer Praetor 600
Heavy Jet 9–14 7,200 km (3,900 nm) 850 km/h 1,800 m €12,200–18,400 Dassault Falcon 900 LX, Bombardier Challenger 650
Ultra Long Range 12–14 13,400 km (7,250 nm) 960 km/h 1,900 m €14,300–22,500 Gulfstream G650ER, Bombardier Global 7500

Ranges are for four passengers with full fuel reserves and no wind. A full cabin or a strong headwind shortens them. The hourly rates are the all-in bands from the Q4 2026 Price Index. Which airport should you fly into?

The nearest airport is not always the one to use. The runway decides which aircraft can land, and the drive decides how much time you save. Saint-Tropez shows it well. La Môle is about 23 km from the town, 37 minutes by road, but its runway is 1,071 metres, which suits a turboprop. Toulon-Hyères has 2,120 metres for any jet and is about 75 minutes away. Nice takes every aircraft and is more than two hours by road.

When you enter a city or an address, the calculator lists the airports within 160 km with the longest runway, whether each is an international airport, and the drive. Each aircraft class uses the airport you can reach quickest among those it can land at, and you can switch to any airport on the list. We mark an airport international when it carries the name, is a major commercial airport or, in Europe, has scheduled airline flights. Business airports such as Farnborough and Biggin Hill handle international private flights every day, and we arrange customs wherever it is needed.

How the calculator works

Flight times come from the performance planner in our charter desk’s own system. Each class is modelled on one reference aircraft: the Pilatus PC-12 NGX, Embraer Phenom 300E, Hawker 900XP, Challenger 350, Falcon 900LX and Gulfstream G650ER. The planner flies the great circle plus 3% for airways, in the month’s average winds at cruising height (NCEP/NCAR reanalysis, 1991 to 2020), with standard passenger weights and 15 kg of bags each. It adds ten minutes for taxiing and rounds up to five minutes. We checked it against 430 flight times quoted by operators in 2026, and four in five came within ten minutes.

A flight counts as nonstop when the aircraft can carry your party with full fuel reserves (contingency fuel, an alternate airport and a 30-minute final reserve) against a headwind that 85% of days stay within. When it cannot, the calculator finds the most practical fuel stop and adds 45 minutes on the ground.

The price is the Price Index hourly band for the class multiplied by the billed flight time, with a 1.5-hour minimum. The bands are all-in: positioning, landing and handling, catering and passenger taxes. They are one-way prices for the whole aircraft. A return trip, an empty leg or a peak date moves the number.

Door to door is the drive to the departure airport, 15 minutes at the private terminal, the flight, 10 minutes after landing and the drive onward. Road times come from Mapbox and leave out traffic.

What the calculator cannot tell you

It does not know which aircraft are free on your date or where they are parked, the airport’s opening hours, slot rules, or the crew’s duty limits on a long day. We arrange aircraft; we do not operate them. The operator’s flight plan sets the final time and our quote sets the price. Send us the trip and we will come back with real aircraft and an all-in price, usually within the hour.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a private jet flight from London to Nice?

About 1h 45m on a light jet from Farnborough, within five minutes of that in any month. If you enter an address, the calculator adds the drive at each end.

How far can a private jet fly without stopping?

With four passengers, full fuel reserves and no wind: about 2,900 km in a light jet, 4,100 km in a midsize, 5,200 km in a super midsize, 7,200 km in a heavy jet and 13,400 km in an ultra-long-range jet. Headwinds and a full cabin shorten that, which is why the calculator checks each trip against the month’s winds.

How does the calculator work out the price?

It multiplies the billed flight time by the all-in hourly band for the aircraft class in our Price Index, with a 1.5-hour minimum. The result is a one-way range for the whole aircraft. A quote from us names the aircraft and gives one price.

Why do flights to the west take longer?

At cruising height the jet stream blows from west to east. Geneva to New York takes about 9h 15m in a heavy jet and the return about 7h 25m. The gap is widest in winter, when a westbound flight that is nonstop in summer can need a fuel stop.

Can I fly into the airport closest to my destination?

Only if its runway suits the aircraft. La Môle, the closest airport to Saint-Tropez, has 1,071 metres of runway and suits turboprops; jets usually land at Toulon-Hyères or Nice. The calculator shows each airport’s runway and drive, and gives every aircraft class the closest airport it can use.
