Cannes airports — CEQ · LFMD

Cannes Mandelieu.

Cannes-Mandelieu is France’s second-busiest business aviation airport, and two rules shape every charter: a 35-tonne MTOW limit that decides which aircraft may land at all, and a fixed seasonal timetable with no extensions for anyone. Fly the right aircraft inside the right hours and you land ten minutes from La Croisette.

Chartering to Cannes

The weight rule first. Turbojets above 35 t MTOW cannot use LFMD. A Falcon 8X, Challenger or Praetor-class fits; a Global 6000/7500 or G650-class exceeds the limit and lands at Nice instead, half an hour up the coast. Our published lane is London–Cannes from €13,000, 1h42 on a super light jet — comfortably inside the limit on the 1,610 m runway.

Hours, slots and the summer peak

From 2026 the airport runs five fixed seasonal periods: doors open at 08:00 year-round and close at 20:00 in winter, 21:00 in the shoulder seasons and 22:00 from 4 May to 23 August. Overtime is not granted — a late-running evening arrival diverts to Nice. From 11 May to 14 September every IFR flight also needs an airport slot and parking is PPR; the Film Festival, MIPIM, Cannes Lions and the Monaco Grand Prix all hit this field, so we book those weeks days to weeks ahead rather than hope.

Access and onward

Sky Valet runs the business aviation terminal — the first FBO in France with IS-BAH certification. Central Cannes is 5–7 km, ten to fifteen minutes by car. Monaco is around 55 km by road or roughly fifteen minutes by helicopter transfer, which we arrange with the flight. For extra-Schengen movements, customs is available with advance notice — lead time varies, so we confirm it with the handler per flight.

Questions.

How much is a private jet from London to Cannes?

From €13,000 all-in on a super light jet, flight time 1h42 — an indicative from-price on our block-hour model.

Can large-cabin jets land at Cannes?

Only up to 35 t MTOW. Falcon 8X, Challenger and Praetor-class types fit; Global and G650-class aircraft use Nice, and we arrange the car so the difference is about thirty minutes.

Can you land at Cannes at night?

No. The airport closes between 20:00 and 22:00 depending on season, and extensions are not granted. When a schedule looks tight we plan the arrival into Nice from the outset.
