London Biggin Hill.
Biggin Hill is London’s other dedicated business aviation airport: no airline traffic, an airport-owned executive terminal with UK Border Force inside it, and a 22 km run to the centre that a helicopter shuttle covers in six minutes. For clients staying in the City or south London it is often the sharper choice.
Chartering from Biggin Hill
Every movement is prior-permission, arranged through Biggin Hill Ops, and handling runs through the airport’s own Executive Handling terminal or Jetex, the on-field partner of Bombardier’s service centre, the UK’s largest business-jet MRO. The 1,806 m runway accepts aircraft up to BBJ and ACJ size. Our published lane from here is Ibiza from €15,500 all-in.
The curfew is real
Biggin Hill operates under a noise agreement with its borough: 06:30–23:00 on weekdays, 08:00–22:00 at weekends and public holidays, and no out-of-hours extensions are granted to anyone. The weekday envelope is generous, an hour later in the evening than Farnborough’s, but the weekend cap bites the same way: a Sunday-evening return from the Mediterranean is planned against a hard 22:00 door, and anything later diverts or re-times. We plan those returns with margin rather than optimism.
Getting into London
By road it is about 22 km to central London, 45–70 minutes depending on traffic. The airport’s trademark alternative is the six-minute helicopter shuttle to London Heliport in Battersea, the fastest surface-independent link into the centre from any London-area business aviation field, and worth it when a meeting is timed to the minute. Border Force is co-located with the executive terminal, so international clearance happens in the FBO, typically in minutes.
Questions.
Farnborough or Biggin Hill?
Geography first: Biggin Hill sits closer for the City, Canary Wharf and south London, and its weekday evening runs an hour later. Farnborough serves the west better. Both are dedicated business fields; we quote whichever fits the itinerary.
Can you land at Biggin Hill late on a Sunday?
Only until 22:00; the curfew has no extensions. Later arrivals use Luton, which keeps longer hours, and we arrange the swap when the schedule demands it.
How much is a private jet from Biggin Hill?
Ibiza from €15,500 all-in is our published lane; other routes are quoted on request.
