Notes

Customs and immigration on site around the clock, except a night window (roughly 00:00–06:00 local) when clearance is unavailable for general aviation — non-Schengen night movements are planned around it.

Olbia is the front door of the Costa Smeralda, and its private terminal — Eccelsa Aviation, heir to the Aga Khan’s original Alisarda — advertises the walk from car to aircraft as twenty-one steps. In August, those steps are among the busiest in Europe: over a hundred large jets can sit on the ramp at the season’s peak.

Chartering to Olbia

Summer is fully slot-coordinated and every business flight needs the airport operator’s authorisation on top — effectively a parking permission that we arrange with the booking. Four flights in five here happen between late May and early October, so the difference between a smooth August pickup and an improvised one is simply lead time; when the ramp is full, aircraft drop and reposition, and we quote that plainly. Our Nice to Olbia hop runs from €8,300 all-in on a light jet — under an hour — and London to Olbia from €15,500 on a super light.

One planning note for non-Schengen arrivals: customs stands down for general aviation in the small hours, so late-night UK departures are timed to clear before it does.

Facilities

Eccelsa’s terminal handles the Costa Smeralda’s entire private traffic with lounges, crew facilities and apron transfer to the aircraft; Porto Cervo is 35–45 minutes by car, and helicopter transfers are available for the impatient stretch of the season.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a private jet to Olbia?

From €8,300 all-in from Nice on a light jet, or €15,500 from London on a super light — indicative from-prices on our block-hour model.

Does Olbia get crowded in summer?

Extremely — it is one of Europe’s densest private-jet ramps in August, which is why parking authorisation is arranged with the booking, not after it.

Which airport serves Porto Cervo?

Olbia, 30 km away — about 40 minutes by car, less by helicopter.
