Venice airports — VCE · LIPZ

Venice Marco Polo.

Venice Marco Polo is the only Venice airport that realistically serves business aviation — and one of the few in Europe where the last leg is best flown by water. The private Boat Terminal sits beside the GA terminal: jet to water taxi in a few steps, central Venice in about thirty minutes.

Chartering from Venice

There is no slot coordination for business aviation. Instead, prior permission is mandatory, arranged through the handler with 24–48 hours’ lead, and it is tied to parking. The 3,300 m main runway takes everything in the charter fleet up to BBJ class, with a second runway adding resilience. The dedicated GA Terminal opens 06:00–22:00 daily with border police, customs and immigration on site; overtime is available but must be pre-notified — a late arrival without it risks commercial-side handling.

Our published lane: London–Venice from €13,000, 1h51.

Parking and the Venice calendar

Parking swings with the season: around 25 GA stands in summer shrink to roughly 15 in winter, and from mid-May to late October ground time is capped at 24 hours. During Carnival the maximum approved stay is 72 hours. For the Film Festival, Carnival and Biennale peaks we plan drop-and-reposition as standard — the aircraft waits elsewhere, typically Treviso, and returns for the departure. The airport itself works around the clock, with night noise-abatement procedures between 22:00 and 06:00.

The arrival

The water is the point. Passengers clear the GA terminal — Italy is Schengen and Marco Polo is a 24-hour airport of entry, so formalities happen on site — then step onto a private water taxi at the adjacent dock and reach St Mark’s in around thirty minutes. The road route to Piazzale Roma covers about 8 km; we book the boat.
