At a glance

London to Lisbon by private jet takes about two hours and twenty minutes, Farnborough to Lisbon Humberto Delgado, from around €16,500 one-way for the whole aircraft. For the 828-nautical-mile leg a super-light jet is right-sized, most often a Cessna Citation XLS+, a Pilatus PC-24 or an Embraer Phenom 300E. Lisbon is one of Europe's most congested airports and every flight, private ones included, needs a slot, with parking scarcer still. That is where the work on this sector lies, and it is work we do early: slots, permits and handling are requested the day the booking is confirmed.

About this route

London to Lisbon in 2h 18m.

The route has broadened well beyond the summer season. Tech and investment traffic runs year-round, with Web Summit week in November its own peak, and the second-home corridor to Cascais, Comporta and the Algarve fills the warmer months. Fridays out and Sundays back carry the most demand.

We depart from Farnborough, a dedicated business aviation airport with no scheduled traffic, so the London end asks nothing of the schedule.

Lisbon asks more. The airport is coordinated at the highest level and slots are mandatory for every movement; parking is the binding constraint, normally limited to around three hours without prior approval, so drop-and-go is the standard plan and the aircraft repositions, often to Cascais, twenty-five kilometres west, if it stays in Portugal. Charter flights also require a Portuguese landing permit with roughly four business days’ lead time, and night movements between midnight and six sit inside a strict quota. None of this needs to concern you beyond the booking date: we file for slots, permit and parking together and tell you plainly what is achievable. On the ground, both executive terminals sit on the south side away from the passenger terminals, and the city is seven kilometres away, fifteen to twenty minutes by car.

Over 828 nautical miles the super-light class still does the job nonstop with six or seven passengers: the XLS+ brings the widest cabin of the three, the PC-24 the baggage flexibility, the Phenom 300E the pace. For eight or more, or for full bags on the Algarve run, a midsize aircraft steps in.

We like a week to ten days’ notice for this route, since Lisbon’s slots and parking reward it, though shorter is often possible when the aircraft drops and goes. We confirm the realistic options before you commit.
