At a glance

London to Antwerp by private jet takes about fifty-three minutes, Farnborough to Antwerp, from around €8,300 one-way for the whole aircraft. The 197-nautical-mile leg is light-jet territory by design — Antwerp's runway is short, and a Cessna Citation CJ2+, an Embraer Phenom 300 / 300E or a Pilatus PC-24 is the right equipment. The reward is an airport six kilometres from the centre: ten to fifteen minutes from touchdown to the diamond district or the port. One rule shapes every schedule on this sector — Antwerp closes at 23:00 and charter flights cannot buy an extension, so we plan the return with margin. Handling, customs and cars we arrange as part of the charter.

About this route

London to Antwerp in 0h 53m.

This is a working route. The diamond trade, the port and Belgian corporate traffic drive it, and the 53-minute block time makes the day trip the standard pattern: out of Farnborough in the morning, meetings in the city, home the same evening. Farnborough is the cleanest private departure point south-west of London, and Antwerp rewards the short sector with one of the shortest airport-to-desk times in Europe.

Antwerp is a genuine city airport, 6 kilometres south-east of the centre. That comes with a genuine city runway — 1,510 metres, with less available for landing — so the field belongs to turboprops and light jets. Larger cabins route to Brussels and give back the time saving on the motorway. Handling is compulsory for anything from three tonnes upward, and we book it with the charter; customs and immigration operate on the field throughout opening hours.

The constraint that matters is the clock. Antwerp’s environmental permit fixes operations between 07:00 and 23:00, and the closure is hard: late openings exist only for delayed scheduled arrivals and medical flights, at €2,000 per landing, and a business charter does not qualify. So we build evening returns with a buffer. A dinner that runs long should cost you nothing more than a later coffee, not a diversion to Brussels.

The airport is not slot-coordinated, which keeps short-notice departures realistic. The CJ2+, Phenom 300 / 300E and PC-24 all fly the sector easily with four to six passengers; on a leg this short the aircraft class is set by Antwerp’s runway rather than by range or speed.

A day or two of notice is comfortable. Same-day requests are often workable, subject to aircraft positioning and the 23:00 close.
